Hi , My Mk3 seems to have stopped sparking, I’ve removed plugs and when turned over on the button it only gives a flash of spark when I release the button ? also a spark sometimes when switch off . It has a Pazon ignition , the wiring seems as it should be , working fine before ,
thanks
Allan

Check your pickup wires

What about when you operate the kickstart with the plugs out?

Kick start sparks as normal , I’ve been checking the wiring on starter circuit and can’t see an issue , I’m thinking something may be playing up inside the switch gear,

Ok thanks, I’ll have a charge up and see.

Assuming you haven't connected any loose white/purple wire terminals (either at the starter solenoid or coils) since it was last started using the starter motor as doing so would also produce the same result (sparks using the kickstarter but not the electric starter until the button was released).

The Pazon has a test function, it is written up in the supplied instruction sheets.

If you touch the pickup wires together and then separate them, the plugs should both spark.

If not, the problem is the ignition box or the power supply to it. If you have a voltmeter, you might want to check that first.

Assuming the plugs spark for the test, the problem is the pickup plate, or more likely the connections to the pickup plate of the wires you touched together. Make sure they are making good contact and are tight.

The securing screws can loosen and leave you with no spark. I speak 100% from experience of this happening to me.

However, I am inclined to agree with previous comments that as described, your problem is most likely in getting power to the box.

The test simply removes the influence of anything else, and can be done whilst chasing poor power connections.

All charged and working as it should again, you would think if battery had enough power to turn engine it would produce spark but obviously not,
thanks for all your help and suggestions.
