Hi All ,,

I would like to change my 74 MK II Commando over to the MK III adjustable ISOLASTIC mounts system ,, Can someone tell me if the a front engine mount from a MK III electric start model would drop straight in instead of having to modify the existing MK II mount to take the kit ? .. Thanks

Regards
Paul :)

Yes, the MkIII front Iso. assembly should be a direct replacement, however there are vernier Iso. kits available that fit your front mounting without the need for any modifications.

ISOLASTIC CONVERSION KIT - FRONT - NO MODIFICATIONS - NEW TYPE

If you live in the US, Commando Specialties also has the vernier kit that will fit your year.

Mick Hemmings in the UK also supplies adjustable iso kits that are ready to fit to your Mk2 without any modification.
Your existing iso rubbers stay in place , and these adjusters are very easy to install.

The Hemmings adjusters are actually just a replacement for one of the isolastic mount collars, one on the front and one on the rear. They're real easy to install if your isolastic stud/bolt come out easy. Probably your best option if you don't need new isolastic rubber parts.

Thank you L.A.B , Dave , Peter and RS you have just saved me from pushing an auction button on a 2nd hand MK III front mount ,,
From what you all say it should be quite an easy job, unlike my next job of needing to repalce the swing arm bushs :?
Cheers
Paul .
