Another birthday girl.
Any chance you could post some more detailed pictures of your mint condition mark 3. I am reassembling a mark 3 that has been in pieces since 1983. i am specialy interested on where the seat check wire goes and the throttle choke cable routing.
thanks
oscar
Hi Oscar, I'm at work 4000kms from home for the next 2 weeks, I don't have the choke fitted (warm enough all year round over here) but I can do some pics when I get home. Perhaps some other MK3 owners could help. PS mine was off the road for 16 years when I got her, lots of work, but there are so many improvements available to make them more reliable and rideable.

Jeff.
Many Thanks Jeff I will look forward to receiving the pictures. I am now about 4 weeks away from getting the mark 3 running. It will be the first time its run since 1983. I went with the same color scheme as your norton. I did receive a spare metal tank and sidecovers which i had painted black with gold pinstripes in case I want to change color.

Not sure if it a February build, but it is a 75 Mark III. Still one of my favorite rides (the Norton, LOL)

Pic is from photo-shoot for 2016 Norton Calendar

Man oh man, my MK3 didn't come with accessories like that.

I salute the Mark3

Arguably the best built, most refined, oil tightest, easiest starting, rear disc carrying, Commando of them all.

I had one back in the day and sold it to my brother in law so it is still in the family.

Happy Birthday Mark3 !!!

Excellent post and no mention of our weight problem, which we might be just a bit hyper-sensitive about

The 74 850s were pretty good as well and my rear drum works pretty good, but happy Birthday Mark 111s, 40 years old and still going strong, I just cellabrated a year earlier and in 2 weeks time I will be cellabrating 40 years of owning my Norton.
