I recently received the aluminum tank that I ordered about a month ago from the eBay supplier, Royal Choppers and I'm very happy with the quality. While it isn't a perfect match, it's pretty close to original. The only problem is that repo badges don't exactly fit in the recesses but I'm OK with that problem. While the photo's make the new tank look larger, that really isn't the case as I've measured to compare and it's within an 1/8' of the originals taken at various locations. The gas cap is not so great, but that is what I expected, in fact I didn't even anticipate a cap. I installed tank petcock's after flushing the tank and will keep some gas in there for a week to make sure it doesn't leak, but I would be surprised based on the welds....but who knows. Time will tell.

Nice. Are you gonna paint it or leave it polished?

Honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do. The chances of matching the original paint are probably pretty slim and likely not cheap. I only need the tank for long rides, so I may just keep it as is.

It looks to have more capacity too. Sweet looking bike.

It does look a little taller, but I don't know if the capacity is any larger than stock, guess I'll find out when I finally get it filled up. Thanks, I have been working (dumping money) on the bike for the last two years.

I am glad your tank fits as I had no luck dealing with the owner of Royal Choppers. He was polite but would not believe that my tank did not fit .

Yes I read that about your tank, mine just dropped into place. Granted it isn’t a perfect match, but I had no illusions that it would be an exact copy.

what is the expected nominal capacity of that fuel tank? bigger than a roadster tank?
It's a UK gallon bigger than a roadster from memory, someone will correct me
It played havoc with my commuting when fastback tank melted !!!!
