Where are the books ?

You mostly see them referred to as microfiche records....

Do I still have a valid email registered with this site ?

P.S. Any chance that 'blue ink' was indelible pencil ?

I am Aware that a few were brought into New Zealand for use as police bikes.

Agree. One lives next door to a friend of mine in Wellington. In a few weeks I will be home and can check the number. In very original condition and owned by an engineer with a collection of pre and post war bikes all in unrestored but usable condition. A guy who leaves his bikes with their original patina and condition. No over restoring.

Well I was wrong. The bike is a 650 SS from a batch built to special order in about 1968 for Percy Coleman Ltd Wanganui, the NZ Norton distributors. The bikes were used as police instructors machines at Trentham Lower Hutt and then sold of in about 1970 by Lawton and Boyle in Wellngton. The bike was bought by the present owner's cousin in 1970. He had three to chose from. The bike is very original and still has the police radio mounting bolt holes in the tank.

My 650SS was First registered January 1967 to the Comisoner of Transport Wellington [police]

As an aside, a lot of us participated in factory record project as members of not of the NOC. I had Jan to Mar 1947. I am an NOC member here in the US as part of the Northern California Branch (the only one in the US). :)

I (sorta) took part in the NOC Factory Project - all those illegible (1930s) scribblings.
I would still take a lot of convincing that some of those words were even in the english language !
