Memorial Day

Good on ya'.

I appreciate that some people know and understand the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.

Here is to those that laid down their lives for our freedoms...

Also here in the Netherlands and Belgium we honor the fallen men of the US forces burried at the war cementeries here in our countries on memorial day, nothing political here, just respect.

Amen. I even wear the poppy during November, like the UK. Not only because my birthday is Nov 11 but because of Armistice day. I spent my 3 years in service in Berlin, 1 year in the Language School in Monterey CA and 2 in Berlin, 62-65. But it was enough for me, service life was not for me even being an army brat, but my brother spent his time in the Air Force after the AF academy. I guess I spent enough time overseas, I was out of the US most of my first 20 years. My dad was an artillery officer at the end of WWII and stayed in.
