Main difference from G85 vs G80 engine

The '66 G80CS on/off road model which I had used an Amal Monobloc (1-3/16"?) and I think the G85CS would have had an Amal GP carb.

The Amal Concentric carburettor was introduced with AMC across the range at mid-term 1967 for the '68 models, i.e., P11, G/N15 and Dommie models plus the G80CS in road trim. Basically your bike was spec'ed in 1965 at a time when most brit bikes were equipped with Amal Monoblocs.

This TCS owner says the early bikes had a slightly smaller bore.

I stand corrected, as I've seen several adverts for 1959 & 1960 models. Don is a guru in all things AMC and I trust his information on the TCS.

This could be a good thing, maybe there are a few more of these bikes out there than the 125 listed on the net.
