One word of caution is to never put a direct flame to a bearing surface for the purpose of heating as it does not take much to damage the rolling surface(s). A bearing supplier cautioned me on this; even a Bernz-O-Matic or propane torch can quickly damage the surface. According to SKF installation guidelines, the bearing should not be heated above 250F. A hot plate, oven or electric heat gun are the ways to go.
