Classic bike parts cheshire has new production Lucas indicators in stock

I recently purchased a set of what i thought were Genuine Lucas ( these were embossed with LAP ) and not the correct Lucas text as per my originals
which i quickly returned at £50.00 per pair they were very expensive pattern indicators ( and badly miss represented by the seller )

hopefully the classic bike parts ones will be correct , and the real bonus is they are £32.95 per set

Frankie,
Please post results of your purchase. Mine are still the original Lucas and a couple are a little shabby. I guess this will be lens and housing?
Pete

'Genuine Lucas' stuff is becoming available again: Indicators, Wiring harnesses, Headlamps etc, although I suspect it's because the name has been bought.

The harnesses are woven cloth wrapped and seem to be pretty good, even if the originals were plastic sheathed by '72 (possibly earlier?)

The previous 'genuine Lucas' headlamps I've seen had the later style logo per the green box below, so not so good for a Concours resto, but the latest ones are more retro, although still not 100% 'correct' - I believe it should be the 'Lion Rampant' as per the box artwork?
However, the indicators do look OK and lenses are available separately; nor is the price over the top - £30 for a pair of indicators, £4 for a lens.

These should be available most places by now - drop me a PM if you're stuck

I guess it's never too late to build a good reputation. There is certainly a market.

The LAP ones are Lucas made...I haven't found any new ones with the Lucas script yet...I have bought several used sets to have the correct spares..

Yep, we should bear in mind that Lucas as a brand has in part been purchased by Wassell.

I have already seen some 'genuine Lucas parts' appearing that are of dubious quality.

...looks like they will soon be reviving the 'Prince of Darkness' reputation too!!!

such a shame :-(

Regards indicators - I see that Andover Norton are now doing them with their own, longer stems.
Better for Nortin fitment :-)

Beach the indicators embossed with LAP are Lucas ?

if they are Lucas production then why the hell would they stamp them LAP brand not Lucas on the back

Take a look at the LAP electrical website ( ex Lucas guys ) the registered company name is LAP electrical not Lucas Automotive Products
as some would like you to think

The New production Lucas parts in Andys photos all are packed in Lucas branded boxes not plastic bags or brown cardboard boxes

Has anyone ever seen the ones in the new boxes? I must have been misled about the LAP ones being Lucas...Either way is not something I would buy...

Wassell recently acquired the rights to sell classic Lucas motorcycle parts under the Lucas trademark which perhaps LAP were not allowed to do for whatever reason?

http://www.lapelec.co.uk/thecompany/
Formed in August 1989 following a management buy-out of a division of Lucas Automotive, the company’s dynamic approach has brought about consistent expansion of its product range, markets and capabilities.

http://www.totalbikebits.com/wassell_history.html
In 2014, Wassell acquired the licence for the Lucas brand from Lucas Industries Limited, for Classic Motorcycle parts. In conjunction with Lucas, an extensive product development programme for Classic Motorcycle parts was initiated, to once again, establish Lucas as a market leader within the industry.

I guess it makes commercial sense for Lucas to partner with Wassell

they are the biggest classic parts wholesaler and will have the fast path to market unlike LAP
