anyone know where I can buy these brass terminals that came with the coils in the 1960s and 1970s? Should be common as dirt but I can't find spares. I would like a box of 100.

IMHO they are asking for trouble. i much prefer to use ring terminals on the studs as they cannot fall of like a push on spade

Blimey a 100 you must have loads of coils to sort out???

Original Lucas 17M6 and 17M12 etc. coils have terminals like these:

Modern Lucas coils seem to use two singles on each post.

the picture posted by LAB is what I am looking for. Good idea with ring terminals, slower to R&R.
British wiring does not have them

Too familiar with factory blade coil terminals to mostly swear at them than by them as heat and vibes metal fatigue tend to make them the first place I check on misfiring, usually while still rolling, to often get reconnected enough to get to destination before trying to re-secure them, again. But that what Ya get if keeping the faith of honest to gosh factory part numbered religious Commando like my '72 Trixie. A dot of solder solved my intermittent issues when ruining out of wire enough to keep replacing female blade terminals. No much issue unless expecting daily usage.

I am just tired of cleaning and filing the terminals to get to new metal, it would be easier and quicker to install a new one and throw the old ones away.

I've never had a bit of trouble with spade connectors. If they are giving trouble, you're using them wrong, ie; not enough slack in the wire, travel loop, etc.
That said, on bill's advice, I switched to #10 ring terms for CLEARANCE to the rocker cap nuts. https://www.amazon.com/16-14-High-T...=1517748587&sr=8-15&keywords=ring+terminal+10 shrink tube over looks tidy.
If R&R time is that critical, you'll also need a Fumoto valve & single sided swing arm.

Grease after cleaning. Done. For half a decade, at least.

I purchased a box of them last November from autoelecrticspares.co.uk.

I can imagine if you're filing on them, they're gonna get looser and funky. Scotchbrite pad (maroon or gray) and Vaseline works for me.

Vinegar will remove tarnish but no copper, silicone grease to save the need to do it again for a long time.
