I went with Lucas all the way , done right they are very good. Steadfast supplies the correct bullets and crimper
Wow, thanks for the detailed pictures. I'm currently in the middle of changing mine over to the Japanese style since I already had some terminals and correct crimp tool. The Lucas ones do look more robust though.

Make sure you have the correct bullet for each size wire.

This came up as a new post and I saw it came from 2016. But for anyone wondering, there are 2 wire diameter bullets the internal hole being 1mm and 2mm for the 4.7mm bullet.

my 2-cents, FWIW -- when I rewired and installed a new, lucas service replacement harness, I used this stuff on all bullet connectors...

When I bought a four years old slimline 99, I had to replace some bullet connectors with better connectors. Finally ended with replacing all wiring and connectors to get it reliable. Except for the alternator that died from vibrations, the remaining Lucas parts survived the four years I had the bike.
Today I find it difficult to find good quality connectors. Lots of crap being sold.

I prefer non conductive silicon dielectric grease. You can use it on connectors, bulb sockets, and even plug boots. This stuff serves that purpose well -

I wish that the Japanese crimp bullets were the same size and were interchangeable with the bigger Lucas bullets.
