And IMHO I believe thin wall cables have been designed to lower production costs rather than withstand Norton vibrations.
Thin wall cable does not seem to be as flexible as standard cable. Probably not much of a problem in cars, but I try to avoid using it between frame and the fork/handlebar area where it is subject to regular flexing.
