I have ALWAYS done at least ONE THING right - 100% warranty coverage, for a FULL YEAR, just like a new bike. (once or twice OVER a year, "just because")

Many shops will not warranty work on 40 year-old bikes, period. You roll out the driveway and the warranty period expires.
