Ok, so my first post is not exactly exciting, but I've been wanting a poster of this photo in my garage for years. Does anyone know who took it or where I can get a hi res copy? It's the old b&w photo of flat track Norton racing in front a huge billboard that says "Lotta Torque About Norton". Would have been taken in the 70's as you can just make out the "Green blob" logo on the l/h side of the billboard. The rider's number is 76.
Any help would be appreciated.

According to my copy of the book "Norton The Complete Story" by Derek Magrath, the photo is credited to Andover Norton, it was taken at Ascot Park in 1972, and the rider was Frank Gillespie.

According to the blog posted above, this should be the photographer or his son and still in biz. He doesn't include Frank Gillespie in his list of mc pics but he could probably help locate the image if contacted.:

That's the info I'm looking for guys! Thanks! I'll get on to Mahony now. I've searched his site a bit but hadn't found anything.

All is good now. Yes, Dan Mahony took that photo and he has it available for purchase! I suggested to him to put it up on his website as I'm sure there are many a Nortonphile who would want it. I shoulda known not all his photos would be up there. Me thinks this is xmas present to myself.
Thanks guys!

A photo of a Norton without Vivian Neves on it? What's the point? :)

Just kidding.

I think...

I think the above is a terrific photo and agree it would make a great poster. I still want to find the nude that Hobot posted! Of course I might not get any work done in the shop if it were on the wall there. Not kidding...I think.
