Looking at an almost new TT100 issue

This Dunlop is not quite a year old and has perhaps 1200 mi. on it. On a ride the day before yesterday I was getting a large twitch left periodically and just continued on attributing this to the gusting wind... Finished the ride somewhat annoyed and stabled my trusted steed. Anyway went out yesterday nosing about to check if only the wind were to blame and found chunks of rubber being shed and a faint bulging of the bead in the lock area.

It looks as though it’s been touching something judjing by the radial scoring around it near the centre, and the chunks off one side of each tread block. is it front or rear?

The rear, but I've circled the wagons around the whole area of rotation and found nothing to cause any scoring. The tread chunks appear to begin at the start of the gripping surface and work back towards center.... Perplexes me to no ends. Incidentally I had the same thoughts when I discovered the damage.... Anyway more looking and a new shoe. Never had this before.

Can't really comment, but here in the UK there is a tyres manufacturers complaint system in place, regarding tyres. Dunlop belongs to it.
If it was my bike, I would ride to my friendly tyre depot who supports this scheme for an opinion as to whether you might have a claim, or not. I don't know about the USA.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you checked the wheel bearings and that the axle is not broken?

Not wheel bearings, but have found fastener which protrudes a bit too much which could make periodic contact when hitting a rather large dip on my favorite road prior to a small bridge. Sometimes it bottoms out because of a much favored vigorous approach, and I'll wager this is the demon which has cost me the tire I'd prefer to take off.
Thanks cliffa for encouraging me to actually contort and crawl under there for a proper peek because it was hard to see..... just don't inquire what this additional fastener does for that is double secret.
