The local British shop is closing it's doors and selling everything off. Anyone looking for large pieces. Engines, transmissions etc... I can ship anywhere.

Do they have any period performance or tweaking bits? Rear-sets, fork braces, alloy cradles etc

No idea, I havent been in there in a while. I'm going to stop in on monday.

MCC British, the owner passed a few years ago, his son took over very limited hours, has now decided to liquidate.

Ok, cool i need cam drive components to reproduce in factory items an other wise factory Combat w/o the stupid over sized ported CHO head to unbelievable 70 hp range. Got the steel fly wheel replacement as no way would I expect cast iron kind to stand the rev's and power it takes to make me think my modern vtwin 70 hp 365 lb modern is a power to wt limited corner cripple wasting money on not DOT race tire slicks compared to just a tri-linked 40 yr ole Commando on dual purpose hard compound tires. Thankx for the poiinter to snag stuff while the getting is ripe.

Hi, keep us informed, could be interesting for the community..........I know I am a dreamer!

Sounds like potential for a great episode of 'American Pickers'.

The first wave of going-out-of-business US-based British dealers seems to have occured during the mid-80s when the original owners got too old or tired to carry on with no new factory bikes or spares. A lot of these shops sold their inventory to the large warehouse operations that sold by mail-order catalogs.

Perhaps now the second-wave is occuring with the sons not able to continue. But with the internet to advertise the inventory worldwide maybe the littler-guy can have a shot at it.

Good luck to the family and shop.

This is how my local Norton Guy, Wes Scott, got started.

Broward Motorsports was the big English dealer in the Ft. Lauderdale area, and Wes worked his way through college there in the late '60s-early '70s. In 1984, they called him to see if he wanted to buy their warehouse, as Triumph had gone bankrupt the year before, and they needed the space for their Yamaha spares.

He went and looked, gave them a bid, and it was accepted.

Mixed in with the spares were a bunch of used parts and two fairly complete bikes that had been abandoned by their owners, due to lack of available spares.

One of those bikes was the Ranger I now have

The whole 26 years he had the bike, the engine was on a shelf about 15 feet away from the chassis.

Hope this helps. And remember, run on sentences are not "necessarily" a sign of smugness. :P

Wes worked on my first Norton in 1972. Broward Motorsport had the greatest collection of custom bikes in it's lobby. Great stuff. Glad he is still there. :)

Yeah, Wes is still around, and still working on Nortons, along with everything else English.

Dave Boyer is still around, too. He runs a little museum just a few blocks away from where Broward Motorsports was, called Specialized Motors

Dave led me to the G15 project I'm working on.

I finally mad it over to the store. End of August is it, doors closing forever.

I spent 2 1/2 hours digging around the basement and store area.
This is what I picked up, just about every used Commando part he had. It wasn't much.

Tons of Triumph Motors, BSA Motors and parts. I wish I knew more about these, the prices are good.

If anyone sees anything they need shoot me a pm with an offer.

Where are all the pre unit 650 parts ?
Some Harmon cams would be nice or factory TR6 2 into 1 exhaust.
