Following on from my two previous threads, check sag and determined I need another 1/2 inch of preload in the progressive spring, pulled the damper out, and did some measuring. I want a little more rebound and a lot less rebound. So I made some more new damper pistons, that are giving 7 thou clearance in the cylinders, I had about 2 thou before and the originals measured 14 thou. This should let more oil blowby and less rebound, me thinks anyway? Next I made the piston fit on the shaft tighter by half the original and also reduced the endfloat by half also. So in theory I should get a stronger compression setting to stop the forks diving. So will try her out tomorrow, fingers crossed? Oh still using the 10 weight oil for now!

Cheers Richard

The biggest improvement I found with my (standard) forks was when I put 15/40 in them instead of the dedicated fork oil that i'd been using for years!

Thanks guys, for the oil recommendation. I did not get a chance to try the forks today. I used 10 weight as a arbitary starting place. I have closed up tolerances in the dampers, so I can go up in weight after trying. I had too much rebound with the close fit damper pistons first try.

Cheers Richard
