Leaky gearbox selector seal 850 commando

Hi Guys,
Does any one have a remedie or modification to prevent oil leaks from the gearbox selector shaft / gearbox outer cover? I have replaced both "o" rings and I still have oil leaking out.
Perhaps there is a mod to fit a garter oil seal on the gearbox outer cover?. I think that would make a major improvement.

Yes that is possible, the cover needs to be machined to take a proper seal.

There is also a 'Quad-ring' seal available to replace the standard O-ring on the (pre-Mk3) kickstart shaft (Norvil part 069595).

I don't know where you would get it done in Australia, but I had mine done in California at Fair Spares America. Check out this link for a photo of the conversion to lip seals.
