Hi all
For those of you with Lansdowne fork dampers, I was wondering what torque value you use when tighteningthe damper to the slider. I have a small leak on my right side and when checked it was about 12 FT LBS

I've got the Lansdowne dampers, I don't believe I used any torque value when I put them together, just the usual feel that I use every day. What I do use is a coating of Loctite 518 on both sides of the fiber washer when assembling it to make sure it seals. Yama Bond number four also Works same as does three bond 1184. I've been doing this for 45 years, never ever had a leak. I also use it where aluminum washers are employed such as on a Japanese bike. You may wish to consider renewing the sealing washer.

Yea good advise. Thanks

JRB used to send along a nice wrench for the top nuts which was pretty short. It had the corners of the hex cut out so the top nuts didn't get chewed. Don't know if Don still does that.

I _think_ the OP is referring to the bolt at the bottom of the slider, not the top alloy nut???
