I lost the spare set of keys for my '74 Commando. I would like to source blanks for both the ignition and steering lock so I can have them duplicated to match the ones that I have left. Does anyone know where I can source blanks?

If you cannot find a source for blanks, i've had excellent luck finding difficult to find key blanks (for my Rover classic Mini) from this UK key maker:

If you send them a good quality profile picture of your existing key, they can ID the blank and cut an exact match.

They were very helpful with my Mini set and quite reasonably priced.

You can buy a key already cut
Just quote the FS number

I have a bunch of blanks, but they all have one side plain and the other grooved and they go in different lengths. If yours are one-side plain post a picture of the grooved side and I'll see if I have a match.

Dan .. Did you try with a local locksmith or hardware store ?? They may very well have a blank that can be cut .

Triple-C Motor Accessories sells keys for both the FS series and EJR series. Also they provide a service to cut the keys to match your code. They also sell new old stock Wilmot Breeden keys in the FS series that are already cut to code so you might be lucky that you can find a key to match your lock.

The guy with the trailer selling parts just across from the bar at Blackthorne resort made one for me when we were there. The local hardware store also had key blanks for me before.

I buy mine from eBay in the UK
I'll try the local hardware store. It is an old fashioned neighborhood style store and should be well stocked with key blanks. If that doesn't work I can get the proper blanks on eBay.

Daft question (my forte..) but have you checked the steering lock works before ordering a key?
Apologies for stating the obvious, but they do seize up through lack of use, with total replacement the only answer (my story :-) )
