Kenny forwarded me a list of stuff he's still got, he's trying to totally liquidate all vintage stuff including some parts to build at least one 880 engine, one chassis and one complete set of bodywork (Green).

If anyone is interested, I'll send you a list of what's still available, with prices.

He's pretty hard-line on his prices and doesn't want to discount anything unless someone takes EVERYTHING in one whack, and I'm in no position to do that right now. Still, pretty danged rare stuff and there won't be any more of some of this stuff EVER.

P.S. I'm not making ANYTHING on this stuff, other than he'll give me a bit of a discount on the last of the stuff I need if I can get a good chunk of the inventory sold off for him.

If this thread needs to go somewhere else, that's fine. However, it is Commando related. Again, nothing in it for me, directly. Lots of folks have expressed interest in the 880, so I figure SOMEBODY here might want some of this stuff!

Sounds like a possible good deal if folks are in the market for those parts.

Just e-mail me at grandpaulz at hotmail dot com

Kenny asked me to help him with the liquidation, along with one or 2 other guys.

It might just be possible for a number of us to buy an item or two if we did have a list. All I'm thinking of right now is a longer kick start lever but who knows?

I'm trying to be as organized as possible with this project, so PLEASE e-mail me if you want a copy of the list. Everyone who does so will also get an e-mail with pictures as soon as they are available.

P.S. - there is no kickstarter, sorry.

Did Dreer make a special lever for his big engines, or just use a MkIII lever?

I know my bike came with a 'Racing Spares' lever, which I recently changed for a MkIII lever - about $175 for the complete assembly, including rubber.

The new lever is almost an inch longer (8-1/2" from center of shaft to center of pin pivot, as opposed to 7-3/4" for the RS assembly) I don't know how long an early kickstart crank is, but that 10% longer for me makes a big difference.

Yep,

I was just going to use the old Harley trick of welding another inch into my current lever when I heard the Mk 3 was longer. I think I've heard of someone using a Honda lever too but I can't recall where now.
I've got to get a hotter spark on this thing first, and the next thing I'll tackle is the kick lever.
I don't know what Kenny used, but I thought I might get a good price on one if he had a left over longer lever. It's all a matter of luck of the draw when somebody is leaving the business.

The big thing with the lever is getting one that steps out enough to clear the muffler.

I'd hate to pay over a hundred bucks for it and not have it fit. Since I don't have a Commando frame it is alsways a bit different on mine.
