Firstr ones were buil in the back shed , outta junk .

Hard to describe unless you were there.
They were SO different, everyone else was in multi colours dayglo livery and these were all black.
Plus the sound was unique.
And they were British.
And they were the underdog!
In many races the two factory bikes were actually quite close, so you’d see the two black dots come around a corner in the distance in a sea of multi colour, then they’d fly past making that awesome sound, kinda like a V12 two stroke!
Winning a lot helped too of course !
