Issues with the turn signal switch

last week i noticed that my old Lucas turn signal switch would not work on one side.

I bought a new Sparx turn signal switch and installed it, now my turn signals flash on all three
positions. (left, neutral and right).

This is not the situation i have hoped for :mrgreen: :mrgreen: and i am not really good when
it comes to electrics. would be great if somebody could give me a hint what i could do to fix this.

Hand signals. ?
Probably not the answer you were looking for either !

What do the instructions for the sparx blinker install say. ?

It sounds like something is cross wired, without being too familar with them.
Or something is not earthed, when it needs to be...

How accessible is this thing.
Can you unplug one wire at a time (making sure its protected from shorting anything),
and see if you can get one side working - or the neutral as neutral.

the colors on the Sparx cable are the same as in the Lucas. i will give that a try disconnecting them one at the time.

Something in the switch itself isn't separating the contacts for the two different wires as if there is one piece of metal connecting both wires, and making contact even when the switch isn't pushed to either side, rather than having a non-contact gap in the middle. Perhaps the contact on the switch lever end is too long and stays in contact with both individual contacts continuously. If you pull the plug on one side and it still blinks in neutral, the switch is knackered. I would send it back for a replacement.

Do all the signals flash, ie, front and back both sides at the same time? If so you've got some connections crossed somewhere.

No they just flash on each side : when i switch it to the right side , it flashes as it should, left side also when switched.
And in neutral the right side flashes as well :mrgreen:

It sounds like a faulty switch in that case, have you tried the old switch back on as a test?
