isolastic lube?

Silicon based grease, like SylGlide available from any NAPA shop. If you're doing a MKIII iso upgrade those front rubbers are a royal pain even with grease.
 
I think Dave( Hong Kong) may just be using the old name we called the stuff the other Dave (Con) recommended. At least here in CA we still call that rubber grease.
I'm sure i'll botch the spelling but the Germans have stuff called Gummipfledge, I think it means rubber care, that will lube it too. BMW used to carry it.
 
I'll be darned, I've never seen that I believe. We always had some sort of lube over here but common shop use seems to have migrated to silicone products.
 
I did some work on my boat last year and remember being handed a tube of what turn out to be silicone grease.......it was for use on some seals for the propshaft..........I am am gonna use this....on a boat, won't degrade the seals otherwise you sink....would have to work on Norton Isolastics.

Stuff i like (and other too) is dow 111 "valve lubricant and sealant" AKA silcone lube - good stuff for rubber seals etc.....
available most place including ebay!
