But it does look like the UK, we have had two weeks of stellar weather, almost no cars on the roads (well out west anyway) and I was on an important
mission to get vital garden supplies.
Just put a back pack on and head to the supermarket for something you know the local shop doesn't have. Thin excuse is better than no excuse.

Good Aussie mountain range road and very similar roads I ride on, your bike sounds great as well.

Thanks mate.
Bit of popping at around 3/4 throttle, reckon there’s some crap in the fuel tank.

On the way home from this ride, the mainshaft nut came off . Need to replace the clutch centre and mainshaft, dammit.

Nice ride...just wondering why you choose to have your mirror on the left?

Realistically, I should have one on each side, but to be honest I've just not bothered to go out and buy a matching pair.
I run it on the left because I ride mostly in the right lane, so this allows me to see cars that may be creeping up on my left before I change lanes. I do a lot of shoulder checks anyway.

In QLD classic bikes only need one mirror but its usually the right side by law, modern bikes have to have 2 mirrors as well classic bikes no need for indicators.

Excuse the shot suspension and naff sound (fixed one, not too sure about t'other), plus I'm not au fait with editing these things, but here's a trip round the roads of Essex last summer....

Those roads look remarkably empty for Essex! I'm in Harlow
Your choke looks like it's on full I assume it's not?
Cheers

Oh brilliant
I have an SU kit I'm going to try one day, but my commando is running so sweet on the amals I don't want to disturb it at the moment
Cheers
I was lucky to get it reconditioned for free, it's a big lump to hang off two setscrews but I just love the 'driveability' of it..

Is it just me or does somebody else wonder why we aren't supposed to go out for a ride provided we arent stopping anywhere? I mean there are a lot of serious road warrior out on their bicycles and they sure as hell aren't going for vital supplies.
Seems to me that a lot of this lockdown routine is simply heavy handed over reaction from The Authorities. Those are the kids that were busy running for Class President when they were 16. :-(

"Cowboy Don, On the way home from this ride, the main-shaft nut came off . Need to replace the clutch centre and main-shaft, dammit."

Hi Don, A few years ago my main-shaft nut came undone and the clutch fell off. I had the ignominy of being collected on a breakdown truck:eek:

It turned out that the tab washers are mild steel and not up to 30 years of slight movement, and slowly, then quickly thin to nothing and then fail being a tab washer:eek:

I bought a Belleville washer from Comnoz to solve the problem :)

And it stoped the clicking sound which I thought maybe was the camshaft failing :D

Sorted :D

Another good wheeze is to say you are going to the bank with important documents to be signed....don't forget the documents :)

I sent a photo of me outside a bank via WhatsApp to my children showing them I was usefully using the lockdown time whizzing
about in the sunshine on my motorbikes.:)

Our daughter is a medic at a large hospital. She was in charge of issuing drugs to patients on several heart and stroke wards, but
has been transferred to Critical Care for the last three weeks, probably as she is young and fit. She is working long hours, little PPE
and says they are short of drugs. :(

She said if any old codgers who fall off their motorbikes end up in critical care they might not get the polite, professional care of
normal times. She went on to explain some procedures that may be applied to said old codgers which sounded a bit medieval
rather than medical and I'm not sure would be allowed to be printed on this family forum.

Take care

At some point all this lauding as Heroes those who work in the medical biz wears thin. If you don't like the heat don't work in the kitchen. A lot of people are home and cannot work because it isn't allowed and 94 quid a week isnt enough.
So be glad you are working.
