Stated price in posted link will be 30,000 $US. According to NOC Roadholder, price will be 30,000 pounds sterling. Mistype by one or other?

I don't think the market will support 30K pounds sterling.

Deliveries are expected to begin in the middle of next year.

Not unless they have Aprilia (or Rotax) supply the engines for them.
...and that ain't a Norton in my book.

The low tech 961's dribble out of the factory. They just don't have the expertise or resources.
Designing, testing, building a 200 hp V4 is a huge undertaking, a completely different ball game.
A bike on par with a Panigale? Best of luck fellas.

I realize the topic here is Norton, but to venture a bit further afield in Superbikes, a couple weeks ago I saw a 2016 BMW S1000RR at the dragstrip and it was really an impressive machine. Starting at ~ $16,000 USD, $450 lb, 200 HP and a warranty, I was covetous. The driver had the traction control/wheelie control set to his satisfaction (very modest) and he left the line like he was driving away from a stop light in normal traffic before throttling it hard. Speed on every pass was 151 mph - after the 1/8 mi mark the thing looked like a rocket heading off to space! If you were seeking that kind of performance, and at around half the price of the Norton, I know which way I’d be leaning.

If a person wanted to take a slight step down in performance and price there was also a new Kawa Ninja ZX-14R there that was running 138 mph pass after pass.

I suppose I should have started the thread in "Other Nortons"

My first thought that it was going to be an Aprilia powerplant similar to their race effort.

Yeah, I saw that. I looked at the website for Ricardo and couldn't find anything tangible. It was all just a lot of hyperbole.
Do they actually build anything for anybody? I suspect Norton will roll out an overpriced SG5 kit bike with an Aprilia V4 (and Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes and Marchesini wheels) next year and pocket the left-over grant money from the U.K.
(yawn...)

Yes.

As I suspected, Riccardo Performance Products began with the fabled engineer Harry Riccardo. With their name attached from everything from McLaren supercars to Ford econoboxes, their credentials are impeccable.

Theyve really fixed things up .

Actually , I think they mayve forgotten what NORTONs are / were . And about as likely to care .

Obviously , this was a better bike .
