....Norton Commando 961 no longer being built anymore ?

I have seen a dealer advertise that these are coming to an end and there are Limited Numbers left !

Thoughts ?

A few of us met up and went to the factory on Saturday. We didn’t know at the time, but if we’d let them know we’re were coming we could have had a factory tour and a test ride, as they now work on Saturdays. Anyway, chatting to the security guard on the gate (who seemed very clued up), 961’s are now being built to order. There will be a much cheaper V4 coming soon, and a brand new model launch at EICMA, which is top secret.

The Norton 961 may live longer than we thought ?

Got a different story when I called last week Cliff - I was heading past Solihull on the way to Heathrow and thought I’d chance my arm at a visit of some sort. Young lady I spoke to stated that absolutely no visits were being conducted and that the place was locked up tight. She also said that “even we’ve been having trouble getting in there” - meaning customer service I guess. Who knows.

I also nievely thought that they might have a shop front of some sort or that I may at least get to look around the old bikes in the reception area. No luck there either. She did offer me a test ride though!

Italy currently and have only seen one Ducati:oops:! But as Naples is virtually all cobbles that ain’t really surprising!

“The Norton V4SV, V4CR and Commando 961 are revered the world over as the latest in a long line of iconic Norton motorcycles.” Executive Director, Richard Arnold said....

Really, revered? Laying it on a bit much now are we.
But, happy that the CR is history.
No, the best one was "Dealers will be offering a select few end-of-production units to collectors" You mean the last ones they can't get rid of?

I suspect they'll be a number of special, and expensive 'Final Edition' 961s.
Not to be a dick or wanker (to cover USA and UK):) , but who is going to buy them? And then to Tony and others who have asked what about parts availability? I know they are "supposed" to have spares but even the UK dealers can't get parts sent out.

I mean, when someone says I have the last 961....all I hear is....so...

Ummm

I don't normally graze in this threaded area.
But can you beat a dead horse enough?
The point is, TVS will finally move from the Donington era bikes that they just carried over for the last 5 years.
We’ll finally get to see what they themselves have developed on their own.

How long did you really expect or think they could keep going on losing money?
