I already have the engine pivoted up to remove the gearbox, so it would be an easier task to upgrade the front to vernier.

The rear iso-lastic has already been upgraded to vernier.

The only reason I'm hesitant at all is the fact that the iso-lastics setup is working very well at present. Should I leave well enough alone?

Kind of what I was thinking. I've seen people having a lot of difficulty trying to change the front one out but if you loosen the engine up the pivot it up it looks like it would be a piece of cake when the time comes.

If it has many thousands of miles on it, and you already have the engine loosened off, WHY NOT???
Yup , why not …. I thought everyone just went ahead up upgraded the ISO’s , along with a modern head steady ….. surely I wasn’t alone doing it that way …

Modern head steady?

Modern head steady?

Do those eliminate the rubber mounting?

Why not? Research some threads in this forum about why you should. Be persuaded. You will be glad you did.

Don't think I like that idea.

They still allow the head to shake but restrict the side to side movement so steering is improved and the Norvil type is basically a third Isolastic so still contains rubber buffers and all are an improvement.

OK I like that, but this is getting very expensive!
