Inverted snobbery

Whenever I detect areas in which I am ignorant, I always work to improve my knowledge. Sometimes when talking to schoolteachers, I detect aspects of supposition and speculation. I would never be proud of being ignorant. A couple of university professors have amazed me - some do not even know the basics of life in manufacturing industry. They believe that because they teach about industrial safety, they must know it.
