Interstate side cover pinstriping

Q: Was a pinstripe ever a part of the stock paint job on an interstate side cover?

I've finally switched my side covers to interstate style ones because the early roadster side covers rubbed against the bottom of my interstate tank. The only thing I have left to do to complete the switch is apply the side cover logo. I've seen pictures of interstates with a pinstripe border surrounding the logo and wondered if it's stock or just a creative paint job.


Q: Did interstate tanks ever ship out with late model roadster triangular side covers??

I sometimes see them in pictures and they look like they don't bump into the bottom of the interstate tank like my early side covers do...

Well , just my observations ...but I have NEVER seen pinstripe on stock Norton Interstate side covers; or in any Norton sales literature. Period.

thanks, I'm ready to apply the decals and be finished. I bet the pictures I found with pinstripes were just custom paint jobs.
