I was wondering if this had been done before.. ..just for a laugh really. We select a day , probably on a weekend, and as many Commando owners as possible ride their Commandos and if possible take a photo by a local highlight, would be good to get rider in and post it. Might be the most Commandos running is a day worldwide?
I'm thinking June.

Sounds like a fun idea! I'm IN! May not be a long ride but I will surely take it for a spin and snap a shot to contribute!

Wonderful idea! I'd pick one of these dates to honor Pa Norton or the first issue or last issue date of Commando model. About twice a year I see a foreign Commando pass by in Eureka Springs which is an Ozark mecca for bikers in general. Caught up with one to gain a new friend in another state away.

I'm in !!! Be a great tinme to "show off" the "Fireflake Golden Bronze" paintjob I just had Brent pinstripe for me ... :D

Love it, I'll do it as long as it's not raining. Maybe it should be on James Norton's birthday, no matter what?

The James Norton birthday would be good but it was in April....if its raining a picture of the bike with rain in background
I Googled dates like Commando first shown at Earls Court and the like but no actual days mentioned.
How about 21st June ....Summer/Winter Solstice...... That way you up over have a nice warm long day and us down under cold dark one...oh well its a week day...might have to suck it up and ride to work.... :D

Ugh no kidding good point about ride season. Using the solstice is a good idea to me. But I now think its more sense to make it Int'l Norton Week to give the whole world time to get out to be seen and heard and smelled and felt and tasted. People could contact local news to do a blip on it with Snort for an Norton for extra flavor.

Ancients marked hi Noon as the end/start of days. They called it the "even" as the shadows of gates and vertical posts were even aligned then, everywhere, ie: local time was solar time. Afternoon was called the evening, after the even.

I"m doing my part to show one as often as practical and possible.

I liked the idea of everyone making an effort over one 24 hour period and seeing the pics from around the world. Just my thoughts..... ( probably as mine is running a road legal at the moment as we get cheap rego for 40+ its always on the road)

I'm in. A weekend day would be best so no conflicts with work schedule. I've got a nice 150 mile ride out through the Hill Country in mind.

We could just do like the first weekend in June, or the last weekend in October, I don't think that would bother the 'down under' guys since they have palm trees, eh. Don't know about the Canooks though, will the snow be melted by then or not coming down? I know my wife always complained about the 3 weeks of bad sledding in Minnesota in the summer.

May 26th. Start of the Senior TT at the Isle of Man. Nothing more relevant to Norton than the TT.

Well its Queens Birthday here in Her Majesties Southern most outpost next Monday June 4. Its a Holiday here but Sunday June 3 would suit the purpose.
I will have to find somewhere majestic for occasion and perhaps have nice pint of best bitter at the correct temperature... :D
