Installing Rearsets

I bought a pair of Rearsets to fit to my '75 Mk3 and all is well except I have to remove the brake pedal from the footrest assembly. From what I can see there are no circlips or any other visible means of holding the two together. Are they just a push fit? Any idea how to split them?

Yes push fit but first remove the location screw:
