Indicator switch

I've just fitted some LED indicators to the bike, all working well but as I've not got a owners manual I'm not sure what position on the switch should be left / right!
I don't suppose it matters very much I'd just like to have it as it should be, so is it up for right and down for left?

The standard Lucas indicator switch assembly (if that is what you have) can be fitted either end of the handlebar. Mine's fitted on the left & 'up' is right indicator, 'down' is left. As the switch is inverted when fitted on the right, the opposite applies.

On my 1973 850 with the switch on the right side of the bars......Right is down and left is up or the direction that the bars are being turned.
