Ikon shocks on T140

Take a look on the Bike Revival site where there is lots to choose from. They have the Progressive Suspension 12 series shocks @ £259 a pair which I have had on my TR7 for as long as I can remember. They are still good & it handles as well as it always has done. As they have offset bottom eyes there is no clearance issues.

I’ve never heard of Bike Revival, will take a look, thanks.

That’s very kind Ralph, but Commando shocks are longer (I think).

Looks like they are just over .5" longer than the T140 shocks, you could always do a comparison with the Maxtons on the Commando!!!!, it look like they have 10mm mount holes though.

One thing that did impress with Hagon, I rang them to ask if they could be made to work in an upright position as I didn't think they would clear the chain if fitted upside down, they said they could build them either way so I ordered them, they arrived the next day! cannot argue with that kind of service.

Well, Hyde not much help.

David at Hyde confirmed the current shocks do have the fat spring and faffing around with spacers etc is required.

He also offered Hagons instead !
Latest Hagons are NOT as slim as the old Girlings-don't ask me how I know, Girling , old Hagon springs will not fit latest Hagon shocks!!!!

Ikon has come out with a product line specifically for the vintage Brit bike market. It is much less expensive ($375) than
their top of the line shocks. I suspect they are to compete with Hagons (which are OK) but are better quality IMO. They
look like Hagons and are rebuildable. They are not adjustable for rebound. I have a set on my Commando, but they
configure them for different bikes. Google IKON USA

I presume you must be referring to what they call:
76 Series Shock Absorbers/ Ikon Basix Series

Unfortunately these are not listed / offered for the T140.

In fact, Ikon appear to offer no shocks at all for the T140. The only thing they list that I can see are fork springs...

Their on-line catalogue is a horror story in my opinion. The shocks to which I am referring is here:

My question answered:

<Created by Ikon USA for the U.S., Canadian and South American markets (and not available elsewhere), the new Ikon Albion was specifically designed for '60s, '70s and '80s Brit bikes>

Well yeah, those Albion’s are not available in the UK. But on top of that, Ikon do not list any shocks for T140s. Shame as their Basix range look good for normal road use.

No!

Currently using some Koni dial-a-rides from a Trident, so they’re half an inch longer than they should be, still trying to decide if thats OK or not...

Given the vast popularity of T140s I was kinda expecting easier access to more choice...

Half inch longer Konis.
Wady’all think...
Ikon shocks on T140

Have same on my T150v. Im not hot shoe but they seem just fine.
Which is why Ill probably endure the painful cost and get a set for the Norton.
Oh, and put some gaiters on those front forks. They look rather skinny!

Nigel,
I think the konis on my t140 are a bit longer than standard, though I've never measured them. Centre stand barely lifts rear wheel and it has a similar aapect to yours judging by the photo? I LOVE the handling of mine, a bit quicker steering but no loss of stability. The T140 has the best mass produced frame of any of the latter day brit bikes, it can stand a bit less trail

"In my opinion, as an owner of a Commando, Rocket Three, pre OIF bonnie and a T150!"
