ignition switch

Isn't the ignition switch for the pre E\S Commandos the most ugly afterthought ever hung on a Bike. I was looking at mine tonight with it's new (but crappy) little rubber booty on both ends, God what an abomination!
I was quite surprised when one cosideres our (seeming) love of all things stainless, that no one has developed a nice after market chunkey stainless case for it. I can just picture a marvel in stainless held together with neat little socket head screws (whitworth of course) to hold it together and a flipfront to take the key.
Oh well!!

My next door neighbor shamed me into doing something about my switch. So I machined this from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. I was going to paint it black, but I decided to go with the polished look.

I was just tinking the same thing!
Mine does not even have the rubber boot, and you just see a gob of wires and screws from the side.
I wrapped a rubber inner tube around it and secured with electric tape.
Not quite as ug.
