I think you're in a compulsive relationship. You need help, or maybe I need help.

Most fun I have with clothes on solo in Mt's. too. Love that Commando smell in the morning before first light up too.

Your SICK, very SICK, you need help, glad I'm not the only one

I have had this SICKNESS for 36 years now and if you don't get on top of it now you will end up like me

It's a sickness with no cure....No other bike I've owned has been a symbiotic relationship like my Norton. (Ducati 900SS a close second)

This is a funny thread. I am definitely in the same boat. My wife says I am addicted. She was wondering if there is a old bike guy widows group.....

My dads the same way but with his old Bonnieville.

Not an Illness!
more like being stuck in some warp within the space-time continuum..... I am perpetually somewhere between 20 and 30 years old when I'm on that thang. kinda like the astronaut Dave in 2001:a Space Odyssey, maybe if I ride it non-stop, I'll end up a baby again....

Well I must have one of the good female Nortons, mind don't answer me back, don't tell me what to do and doesn't break down once a month

I am very happy for you, Ashman. Say, by any chance, is Australia a "Community Property " country?

I have always said one puts up with a lot of s**t when there's a good love affair going on.

Oh man, completely empathize and agree!

Difficult to think of life without it or before it, just smiles per miles.

You know one thing that always gets me a rise is how responsive down low off idle and start ups. At least my Combats. I couldn't believe how sluggish a response my SV650 had after being used to Trixie. A few weeks ago was in town and biker came up as I was about to start, so hesitated to summarize what he was seeing. He said neat old rig, but does it go?, I stepped on kicker with half open throttle BLATTTT, He jerked up a bit and said yeah I guess it does. Going back and forth last week on old and new, new definitely has some nice features and road holding, but just feels utilitarian in delivery and then the engine presence begins to be felt more and more distinctly after 10 miles or so. Also doesn't smell any different than my sedan. Attractiveness involves other senses than just touch and sound and motion. Gassed up at my village station and owner remarked how smart and nice Trixie looked, told him that was pleasing to hear. Other bikes don't seem to get second glances compared.

Shortly after getting my Norton, I took it to France to see my daughter who was there studying, in the Champagne region. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, guy in an old Toyota pickup pulls up beside me at a junction and says he's got one like it. We have as much of a conversation as we could manage given my command of French and his of English. That wouldn't have happened on my Pan European. And the local plonk was worth repeated tastings.

I'm not kidding. I really like my Norton. I would definitely buy it a drink. In fact, I spend more money on its drinks than I do my own...
