Been raining off and on all day. Nothing real serious where I'm at.
Been the typical rock slides and some uprooted trees. It happens.
Even had 5.5 earthquake. Unrelated to the Hilary.
Somehow I feel cheated cause I didn't feel it. Wasn't by me.
Unusual because faults are everywhere in SoCal, I'm by one. I usually feel them.
Starting to rain pretty hard right now.
The talk is possible 4-5 inches in the local mountains in the next 12 hours.
THAT will be a problem...
We'll see....

Hilary weakened from a Category 4 hurricane to a tropical storm, moving northward Sunday along the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. Conditions across Southern California are deteriorating as forecasters warned "catastrophic and life-threatening" flooding is likely.

Possibly NOT "unrelated".
Think about it - parched dry earth ALL AROUND traditionally active fault lines, suddenly engorged with flood water working it's way deep into any nearby fault fractures loosen up the lines, and can EASILY result in one cracking loose. Water is basically a lubricant to a fault line.
I'm not saying that IS FOR SURE what happened, just that it is entirely POSSIBLE.

Well, my area is fine. Basically a moderately heavy rain at times with some wind.
It was way worse back in February / March when they came up with a new term, Atmospheric Rivers, AKA heavy rain.
That being said, others haven’t been as fortunate. Some flooding, falling rocks onto highways, fallen power poles, some
Mudslides. Normal, typical issues with hard rain.
it’s probably hanging around Ken Canaga’s right now and then on it’s way to Jim Schmidt’s.

Just seeing the last of it now leaving my area. No damage on my property, just a lot of rain. My rain gauge says a little over 3" in the last 24 hours. I expect a fair amount of debris from fallen limbs, dirt, rock, and mudslides on the roads for the next day or two, so will stay off the bikes till it all gets cleaned up.
