Huggers

Does anyone know a supplier of rear huggers for a 961 that actually protect the bike?
There are VERY few aftermarket parts made for the 961, so I think you’ll need to adapt one from another bike.
I did fit a thin rubber sheet to the bottom of mine to stop grit and water collecting under the front of the hugger.

Definitely worth taking the hugger off, using a Dremel or air tool to polish off the cr*ppy paint then putting layers of zinc type primer and a good top coat then a good rustproofing wax eg Dinitrol. Then spray chain wax frequently..... It is possible to make an L shaped alu plate sandwiched under the hugger pointing down to deflect the water but I prefer to allow the water to run off....

You can wrap the airbox and the underside of the seat. The vinyls available nowadays match most paint colors. We have done this on a couple of black bikes, as the underside and the rear of the airbox were getting chipped up. The airbox is the tricky part to wrap because of the odd curves, but the cut lines can be right at the edge without any visibility of the wrap itself.

Of course, you will need to pull both items from the bike, which isn't that difficult
