How to change the oil 961 Commando

Thanks for the video I'm just lining up the parts to do mine, the norton dealer over here suggested I replace the sump plug washer for $36 but I haven't seen this mentioned as a problem from anyone, has anyone had issues with this?
 
Yep you would think, by sound of it was more or less the the whole plug, I haven't had it out yet to see what he was on about, but said that they'd had issues, mind you this was the spares guy I was talking to. I think I'll take my chances.

Simon is probably happy. As he said us and those manuals have caused him nothing but problems. Maybe leave them off.

Lol.

On this forum he said all the calls he gets asking anout info in the manuals, and if I work for Norton pisses him off amd causes him greif. All I was doing was trying to help when there was zero info available.

Richard, we owners are super appreciative of all the work you and Dave have done to sort out and document the 961. Many of us made our decisions to purchase because of it. Your work was talked about at the Norton rally in Washington this month and referenced in a technical session I attended. I chatted with the other 961 owners in attendance and the consensus was “ thank goodness we have the Cootes in Ontario posting their progressive work for our benefit”. If the one individual at the factory can’t realize that, that’s his loss for being out of touch.

actually, that individual not only represents, but also reflects & speaks to the big cheese,

a yuuuge ongoing pr issue of course, someone must have dreamt up that ignoring it would make it fade away,

Finally got round to doing the service with the oil filters and air cleaner from U.K. Landed cheaper than I could get in OZ , the video was very helpful so thanks heaps, my sump plug was of the 6mm Allen key type, maybe that's what the shop was on about to change over I'll have to check because it wasn't that easy to get out ,couple of nervous moments with the amount of pressure applied to crack it.
