Agreed. I was looking up info for a friend's bike, and had forgotten how much they looked like a regular ol' motorcycle without all the baggage attached.

Been on a Commando since I was 23.
 
I'm down to 5 bikes including 3 Norton's. At 74 my Triumph Rocket III is getting a bit much and will probably go next spring when I will be 75, possibly to be replaced by a modern Triumph Bonneville. I recently purchased a Mk III Commando and it is almost ready for the road. Then I will have to make a big decision. Ride it and sell my 73 850 which i've owned since 1978 or sell it and keep the '73 and hope my failing hip lasts a bit longer.
