How do you fit isolastic rubbers?

Ok rub it in, but I'd no idea that I'd need to do this task but once a bike rebuild and hardly ever need to shove rubber into stuff so easy, it'd slip right back off.
Would it be good on peg rubbers or bar grips or disc brake bootie?
I've been in begging states for this P80 ease trying to fit some tyres.
Maybe send me a dab back with lifters as I want to try it on the air box rubbers to see what I'm missing out on.

Above all else Commando I crave their sudden smoothness the most. I've a bit pensive after feeling Wes's '71 vibe this summer, after he put back crank cheek and rod w/o any bother about balancing, I'm basically doing the same with Trixie items ordered from Baxter's. After deer knocked Trix sideways out from under she landed hard on tires to fly way up and then land on me sliding ahead,- her head steady had to be spaced 3/8" to LH. i half way think I measured under spine tube bent to LH. I think this made her more sensitive than most to horizontal imbalances. Plugs state to carbs state to valve guide oil leak state could be felt as buzz on some light side loads from wind or road curve, in waves depending on rpm. Then would be fine for intervals, until I fixed the imbalance then stayed smoothed. Its like Violin physics to me.

I'm ending up trimming .06" off RH off Trix front mount to get it to slip in reasonably but also with hope it may relieve L hand directed pressure on top steady. It didn't seem this tough to pound front mount after deer, so maybe a save from log-trailer and road grader pincher, by dive into ditch to low side into a high side that flipped us so hard back to grade to shoot between them, it busted out the lower shock rubber as it threw the shock off. That put some twist load on her. That's what I call Phase 4 handling, out of 5 phases-modes.
It was down hill Gravel, I had nothing to lose but teeth and bike under wheels or into trees- 35ish to 45 ish mph. I rode 40 miles that day single shock wobbled.

Will measure spine and brace tube for sure tonight. If off, my 3# sludge and wood blocks are never far away. Even crooked Cdo's handle great and smooth, as long as can assemble w/o much trauma.

Peel. with 3 links and narrowed front rubbers, flat disappeared, Uncanny!
If 920Drouin is too much for me, she was still so good on 750, I'd part her out to build back my accidental combo Combat -run out from under engine.

Trixie is a test for me, to see if I am man enough to have a pleasant essentially all factory Cdo.

I suspect the Hellerine is the same idea.

Steve, Just go to the P80 web site and click on free samples. Fill in the app with Steves MC Repair and your address and check the boxes for the products you want to sample. They send them quick. One of their products is called grip-it. It's great rubber lube and has a light adhesive left when it drys. Just right for grips and pegs. Of course after they get you hooked you have to pay for it next time unless you move or change names. Jim

You know it is pretty funny, I have used Vaseline for years on o-rings in plumbing applications. I work with a lot of PVC fittings that use unions with o-rings that are then used for seawater. The Vaseline keeps the threads and o-rings from salting up so that they can be tightended down easily and come back apart. Yep, so now you got me wondering if...

Plumbers grease worked great for me. Absolutely non corrosive to rubber.

Plumbers grease works without damage to the rubber but it stays around a long time. You really want the lube to go away so the rubber sticks to the metal . This makes the rubber last longer.
Norton used to suggest using gasoline. It make the rubber slippery but evaporated quickly enough that it did little damage to the rubber and left no residue. Not a very safe suggestion.
By the way if you go to the p80 site above you can click on the free sample link and get a small bottle for free. Enough to do a lifetime worth of isolastics. Jim
I got my free samples today. Outstanding!

First hit is free huh, oh oh. Will try it then. I tend to use up rubber till its easier to just cut off grips or tires or pegs if stuck on hard. Annoying to keep shoving grips back on bar riding, especially throttle grip. Tires are main area I'd like rubber glued on and hard to separate, especially if no bead lock and flying flat.
