How do I find the history on a 1976 Norton Commando Mk3 Interstate w/Vin 6 digits long?

I just ordered a new stamped certification plate with rivets for my 1974 Commando.from Andover Norton. I am repainting the frame.

They requested a photograph of the original tag which you do not have. But a photograph of your title and a photo of the engine number may satisfy them.

I can’t remember the cost but it was somewhere around $10.00 plus shipping.

They will stamp them for no charge.

Visit their website and send them an email.

Did the P.O. leave the rivets in place or were they removed?

Sounds like a nice score.
Kali DMV will inspect frame number and engine number and register both on the new registration.
The vin number on the registration needs to match one or the other or both.
As long as number match up, won't be an issue.
If necessary you can sign a statement saying the mileage is not accurate.
Also another form for the amount, if memory serves correct.
Bill of Sale not an issue as long as you have signed off Title.

Also, highly suggest to do this at AAA, Auto club if you're a member. Worth the cost of membership just for DMV deals.
Thanks Michael, I am a AAA member and will go that route first. Peter

Momentary thread drift...
Many. many years ago a trash can flew out of an El Camino and landed on the hood of my car.
I had to stop but not before I got the license number. At the time I was insured with AAA so I called and reported it.

They referred me to the 'Legal' dept. After many phone calls and about two months they tracked down the El Camino. (I had a digit wrong on the license)
'Legal" sent a letter to them, owner contacted me and sent me a check.

AAA then followed up to make sure everything was OK. Come to find out it was the 'Membership' side that did all the work, not the Insurance.
At the time, Membership was 35.00 year. Couldn't believe it.

OK, now back to your regularly scheduled program......
