Horn problem

Pardon my ignorance on this @L.A.B. ('lectrix not being my strong suit 'n' all) but what is the purpose of the relay? and what does it actually do?

It is a powered switch. The horn works better because the voltage does not have to travel up into the pod switches and then back to the device powered. It is powered almost directly from the battery. Only enough power to trip the relay via the switch is needed after fitting.

The battery connector I'm talking about is the one that clamps to the battery terminal. The aftermarket ones also have a clamp for the heavy starting wire with 2 bolts holding it down. The area under that clamp were corroded, the battery terminal itself was good, it was just the clamp to the wire connection.

Headlight problem was just a crappy connection, now fixed and buttoned up while I wait for a new headlight harness. Just need to get a pink slip (MOT in your world @L.A.B.) so I can get the new isolastics tried and tested. Thanks to all as usual for your wisdom and insights. Nearly there...
