I’m away on holiday about to be recovered to my B&B in Crieff. Can anyone local to there help with with a clutch diaphragm compressor. The pushrod seal has wound itself out and I haven’t got a clutch. Yes it was loctited in :) All I need to do is get it back together and I’m good.

If you can help please ring me on 07772 144993

Thanks
Dave

If you’re going to break down there are worse places than this… Recovery will be here in an hour and I’m still on the hunt for a clutch tool.

Fecal balls. That is no fun.

I can relate difference being in my case that I was close to home.

Had that happen with the RGM clutch rod seal and RGM belt clutch. Had to ride uphill home with a slipping clutch. Fortunately it was less than 2 miles. Messed up the pressure plate and in the RGM clutch. A friction is up against the pressure plate and it took a heck of a beating from the aluminum shredding and lumping up on the pressure plate. Will surface the pressure plate and see how long that friction will last while waiting for a set of new plates.

The RGM clutch has been an adventure. I know many have had great success with them. I've never felt that comfortable with it reliability wise. My bike ran smoother before I put that clutch in it. Like the bearing was installed cocked in its hole. I'm going to get a press for that darn bearing and see if I can straighten it out. Sorry about the babbling.

Good luck with it all.

Are you sorted Dave?

I can throw mine in a box and get it DHL'd tomorrow, but you wouldn't get it until Wednesday if that's any good?

Dave,
Haven’t seen your email, but I’m only a couple of hours away and could easily come a run over with a compressor. Can’t help with your carb problems I’m afraid though (I’m a single Mikuni guy).

Thanks for the offers of help and the comedy cone comments… David is coming over tomorrow morning with the clutch tool so all is good. We’re back in Crieff now.

I had that same problem, the only time I've ever used a recovery service. Was yours one of the new RGM seals? Mine was, and it was loctited. I think it was drag on the clutch pushrod that turned the seal and eventually wound it out.

Yes mine is the same type needless to say it won’t be going back in. One less thing to go wrong.

David (DavidT) arrived this morning clutch tool in hand and the clutch is not back so get her minus the offending seal. I want to say thank you to David who made a two hour journey to bring this over for me, I really appreciate the effort. I hope I can return the favour one day.

Thanks again

Dave (just waiting for a throttle cable to arrive now, I ordered from both RGM and Andover so one of the two should arrive…)

Great work!
Logistics!
A timely field repair!
As for parts, the parts shotgun is the answer in some instances when the (holiday) clock is ticking.👊🏻🏁💨
