Guido, I have been told by numerous friends and I'm sure Al will confirm, that Medellin is a very different place from the bad old days. It has been cleaned up and there has been a big push to promote cultural events there. the Medellin International Poetry festival which has been going for over 20 years is held in very high regard worldwide.

I hear Medellin and I go right to the 70's.
My cultural ignorance shines once more.
I really gotta get out of Woodland more.
 
It's a terrible place-with permanent springtime,constant curves-on the roads and the women.All and all a hellhole. :mrgreen:

Well I've never ever felt even remotely in danger and my line of work takes me to the furthest reaches of Colombia.Any contact we've had has been very polite and simply just asked to not to cross the line.I can assure you mining exploration is BFN then 5 hours more(B*m f*ck Nowhere)
Stop the paranoia and come visit.I just started a travel co here-will also be doing bespoke truck tours too.

Oh Al you likely ain't worth targeting nor am I up Devils Back Bone road they keep hogs to eat strangers as much as eat the hogs later. I did have to be introduced by a friend and I was more examined by sniffing and looking than speaking. Any travel is risking mis adventure so how lucky do ya feel and how cool is where ya heading to to find out.
