I have an early '68 Fastback, with the low Atlas style exhaust. The first set of header pipes I bought are no where close to fitting. The problem is that the 'bulge' at the end of the pipe, where the muffler is supposed to slip on and clamp is too far back on the pipe.
Something like 2" too far back.
I can't push the the muffler on far enough to connect it to the rear mount and even if I could, the bulge is too far into the muffler for it too work.
I expect a repro pipe to need a little tweaking, but this isn't even in the ballpark. Any guesses on what is wrong here? I am using the the original mufflers.
