I got my Commando 750 with the head all disassembled and missing pieces. This is my first vintage British bike and I'm attempting to rebuild the head myself minus the machine work. My past experience is all with 70's Hondas cb's so this is a bit different with the most shocking being the price difference for parts.

The head I want to rebuild is missing all valve springs, seats, collars, and collets. No head covers and all the mounting bolts gone.
I have new exhaust valves and new guides for both inlet and exhaust... and the rockers are still in the head.
I've been scouring the web for the mentioned parts and I'm thinking I'd be better off finding a used head all intact for less than the parts bill. Even if a used head needs a valve job how likely would it be that old springs are still usable?

The parts you need aren't particularly expensive, and they should all be available from any Andover Norton spares dealer.

The free length of the springs can be measured and compared to book specs to see if they're usable. I have a set of valve covers that could be polished up to look new with a little elbow grease. I'd take $20+shipping for them if you are interested. Will include 4 allens for the exhaust rocker covers and a nut for the intake cover. Also have stock outer rocker shaft covers and allens since I replaced mine with stainless. I'll toss them in with the deal.

I'll take em. PM sent

Check the prices in the UK too, I have found their prices to be very competitive even with shipping. RGM, Hemmings, and Norvil.
