Since i put Clubman Drop bars on my 73' commando i have noticed an extreme amount of handle bar vibration. To the point that my hands actually hurt after a small run accross town. It seems to be its worst when riding between 3000-4000 rpm and low speeds.

Any tips or tricks you guys can think of?

I saw Norvil sells a bar end weights that is supposed to kill some vibes?

Also, Iso's are perfectly adjusted and have been upgraded to the MKIII.

Handle Bar Vibes.

Have you tried it without the bar-end mirrors? I would think that the longer the bar, the more you would feel the vibration.

Hi j,

I bought bar weights from Manic Salamander and used them on my Mk3 rebuild. I've got longish handlebars, buckhorns in fact, and anticipated some high-frequency vibration. My bike is free of any annoying vibration, but I can't state that the weights really help, since they've been on the bike since the day I first fired it up last summerand I have no recent exprience without them. Still, they are really attractive and secure my bar-end mirrors neatly. The weights shift any vibration resonance down in frequency, and address handlebar vibration at cruising speeds. They are of no help at quenching vibration at low (idle) frequencies. Neither are the isos, for that matter. Are you sure that the new bars aren't simply putting too much stress on your hands and wrists? The bars look good, but, at least to these vintage eyes, look really uncomfortable.

At $70/pair, the Manic Salamander weights should be worth a try to address the cruising vibration problem. They go on and off in a matter of a few minutes.

Check out "vibranators" from ricorshocks.com. Supposed to be miraculous. No personal experience, yet, although I just installed a pair in the wife's sporty. They don't advertise one for Norton bars, to be sure, but check for a model that fits some other bike with the same size bar (7/8"?) I just found one for 7/8" bars under "metric cruisers." There's another one with end weights. Look around.

If you order a pair, use discount/coupon code "advrider" for 20 per cent off. Be prepared for the website to tell you it's not a valid code. You may have to telephone, although after a few tries it worked for me. The ADVrider discount is a standing discount, but apparently they need to update their software monthly, and don't always remember....
