Ugh, my 7" 65watt Halogen is ok to travel paved roads at night but I can't see the trippy road texture-rut-rock-hazards to go over 25-30 mph and even then have been slapped down. Wes also refuses to ride voluntarily after dark any more mostly d/t lack of light ahead. If these LED's can save some juice while running slow enough to see then its well worth it. Was hoping someone else would try it out first. Me you or anyone does not need good light to dodge big animals as the ones that get you can't be avoided even if seen leaping just before impact.

While searching ebay I found Brightt brand for Ms Peel 1700 lumen dual for low beam that a few hunder lumens more that Halogen hi beam and a quad LED bar with 3500 lumens and both stacked on each other will fit behind the huge fairling so can pop that off and still have lights with just switching the wire connnector. I've got a decent lamp in the fairing that lights up my pasture better than my car hi beams w/o turning on the 110 watts of 2 pencil beams.

We use similar lights mounted on helmets for MTB riding at night, they work well. One thing to note though is that the light output specs are usually the maximum theoretical for the emitter, the actual output will be a bit less. There are probably some decent power savings to be had with them as well.

I'm from days we still used acetylene carbide water generator head lamps and they worked better than the electtics back then as the flame sticking out and 1.5" 200' flood light so could see even a bit behind at the sides yet the reflector put out a good distance beam. I'm really thinking about helmet lamp and bb zip gun mount for just look to aim. They've advanced mounted LED now but prior was going take the lamp put of dive lights out for some reach out and see beams. The HD quality LED head lights are impressive but cost about $500.

Peel gets violet mood lighting and up/dn strings on forks so the deer preceive its and animal runing at them instead of just staring until it too obvious by the zoom when its about too late to avoid. The HID Hi volts are not as advertised as prior so LED's about to take over the hi end lights for growing plants too I read.
