Recommendations (as if he needs any) go to Steve Maney, for the excellent job on the exhaust threads - great price, quick turnaround, and vapour blasting carried out to a very high standard by Andy at Trestan Finishers (as mentioned in Norman White's book).

Chuffed Bonz :)

Now you just gotta make the rest of the bike come up to that standard !

Thanks again to Bonz. If it hadn't been for his post, I would have missed the opportunity. Shipped it to the UK on Sept 1st and it arrived at my door today. Wish I had taken a before shot, but It looks a lot better now with its new exhaust inserts and Stage 1 spa treatment. You'll just have to trust me on that.:)

Thanks for your add on post.

That is faster service than possibly anybody in the US could provide, and from somebody that knows how to get the most out of that head.

If that is an Atlas head, you might consider going up in size on the 4 bolts (2 each side) next to the spark plugs. You need to drill out the head and get the barrels drilled and tapped for the larger diameter bolts. Basically same as later 750 Commando. Maybe you already did it. Hard to tell. I think it is worth doing, or having done, but I tend to beat on my motor. Old habits die hard. If you have more self control than I do, probably not worth doing. lol
